Australian Defence Force RoIP
CISTECH deisgned and delivered deployable Radio Over IP solutions to key field elements of the ADF.
The Special Forces and RAAF Air Defence Guards are now equiped with the ability to integrate their field radio systems into both the deployed and strategic communications infrastructure. This capability provides seamless communications in either a simplex or duplex mode between field units and command level agencies for C2 applications and localised radio network control from a single console.
Previous to the delivery of the solution, field Network Control Stations would require a unique handset for each radio network they were communicating on leading to an overload of the operator in this high stress environment. The new solution presents all radio circuits to a common interface and allows the direct integration of phone patch and cross channel retransmission. This reduces both the amount of equipment required and allows for more operators to be added as needed using their standard PC based interface.
The ability for reach back communications from the field into the Head Quaters environment also allows for commanders to gain real time insight into the field operations whilst maintaining control over the communications path to reduce un authorised or unwanted transmissions from the strategic environment out to the field.
